With enough help from people like you we can put space back on the agenda for everyone again. Anytime that you read something about a celebrity supporting the space industry, even if it's just a tweet, let me know via any of these channels.

Celebrities exert incredible influence over people from all walks of life. They have thousands and sometimes millions of people following their every word. If an A-List celebrity says something is cool, it becomes cool. When Stephen Colbert features something on The Colbert Report it instantly becomes popular.

Why does it matter if celebrities support the space industry?
World governments have been the primary customer of the space industry, but in recent years many governments have been questioning the importance of the space industry. This makes it more important than ever to gain celebrity support because doing so will also increase popular support for the space industry.
If celebrities don't already openly support space exploration, why would they suddenly jump on board?
This generation of celebrities has rarely, if ever, been asked to support the space industry. Most celebrities give no regular thought to space, but if you just asked them to they might.
It's important to clarify what I mean by 'support' because the easier something is, the more likely a person will be willing to do it. Supporting the space industry can be as simple as retweeting space related Tweets, liking space articles on Facebook, etc. Just doing something as simple as that would increase the awareness of space projects and missions because millions of people follow celebrity social media accounts.
Celebrity support is essential for appealing to many different demographics that otherwise might not even hear about amazing space discoveries.
The more awareness there is of the space industry, the more support there will be. What the space industry needs right now is more positive publicity. If all the fascinating images from Hubble and the amazing finds from the Mars Exploration Rovers are given more publicity then more people will become interested and supportive of future space missions and projects. Celebrities can use their influence to enhance publicity and "make space relevant to the common person again" (Marimikel Charrier) while inspiring millions of adoring kids and young adults to study space in school.
Celebrities should be recognized and praised for supporting the space industry
Celebrities that support the space industry help to inspire thousands and sometimes millions of people to take more of an interest in space. We must recognize and praise their support of the space industry because celebrities can reach and inspire people that wouldn't normally be exposed to anything related to space. Celebrities have such a diverse audience that their support is imperative to "making space relevant to the common person again" because some people might not have been exposed to anything related to space until they hear about it from a celebrity they follow. This is especially true for the youngest generation because they often look up to celebrities.
But how can we acknowledge and praise them?
An easy way to do this is by creating a list of celebrities that have supported the space industry and widely distributing it. Now, there are a lot of celebrities that have supported the space industry in the past, but what we should try to do is only include celebrities that are actively supporting the space industry. This eliminates the need to comb through everything a celebrity has ever said just to see if they should be on the list and encourages celebrities to ramp up their support of the space industry because not doing so could be bad publicity.
